Wake Forest Law's Community Law and Business Clinic will present "The Law of Raising Money" in the Innovation Quarter Court at Flywheel, located at 525 Vine St., Suite 210 in Winston-Salem. The event, originally scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Topics for discussion, which will be led by Professor Steve Virgil, will include: Common methods of raising capital The state and federal laws governing the offer and sale of investment securities Recent and proposed changes to securities laws, including the state and federal JOBS Acts Roles and responsibilities of financial intermediaries The impact of the violation of securities laws on the issuing business. |
