Wake Forest Law Review Spring Colloquium: "Law As Violence"

Description: The Wake Forest Law Review will host its Spring 2014 Colloquium, "Law as Violence: An Interdisciplinary Conversation," April 10-11, on the Wake Forest University Reynolda Campus. The colloquium is co-sponsored by The Wake Forest Law Review, the Wake Forest Humanities Institute, and Wake's Interdisciplinary Performance and the Liberal Arts Center (IPLACe). The colloquium will kickoff at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, with a poetry reading by M. NourbeSe Philip from herbook, "Zong!," in the Byrum Welcome Center Auditorium. The colloquium roundtable discussions will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, and end with a production of "Our Country's Good," a play written by Timberlake Wertenbaker about the founding of Australia. All events are open to the public. Short abstracts of presenters' topics will be available for review on the Wake Forest Law Review's website.
