Can PDs and ADAs Get Along?

Date: Tuesday, October 6, 2026
Time: 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Description: In our adversarial legal system, no two groups seem more naturally at odds than prosecutors and public defenders. And, yet, these two sides also work together on a daily basis to resolve the overwhelming majority of their cases (whether via plea deals, dismissals, or otherwise). How, exactly, do these two sides strike the appropriate balance between adversarial zeal and cooperation?

If any two people know the answer to this question, it's Assistant District Attorney Kaylyn Wigginton and former Assistant Public Defender (turned private criminal defense attorney) Conor Wigginton, who have been married for almost five years. Join Professor Lewis and Professor Crimmins, as they speak with Kaylyn and Conor about how they navigate the adversarial and cooperative aspects of the courtroom.
