Five-Tool Attorneys: Weather Forecasting

Date: Wednesday, March 16, 2022
Time: 12:15 - 12:45 PM
Description: The purpose of the "Five-Tool Attorneys" initiative is to create organic and simple training opportunities where law students teach each other topics unrelated to the law. In order to be proper advocates for our clients, we'll need to have a generalized working knowledge of a whole slew of different topics. This session will cover weather forecasting. Uncertainty is an ever present factor in science, the law, and our daily lives. On many days, this proposition manifests itself in the simplest of ways: will it actually rain today? Or will it remain dry? This brief session will walk through the weather forecasting process from start to finish and explain how errors can magnify and grow throughout the process. At the end of the session, a participant may not be able to explain why any given forecast was correct, but they will be able to explain why one might have been wrong. The multi-talented and ever inspirational 2L Michael Riedl will be leading this Five-Tool Attorneys session!
