Summer Practice Series: Foundations for Success

Date: Thursday, May 28, 2020
Time: 12:00 - 2:00 PM
Description: What does practice-ready really mean? You're learning how to think like a lawyer, but what are the key qualities that turn a law student into a successful professional? The answers might be surprising.

Join Professor Francie Scott (JD '04) for "Foundations for Success," a Wake Forest Summer Practice Series class that examines data from 24,000 attorneys responding to the question: What are the competencies, skills, characteristics, and qualities that new lawyers need to hit the ground running?

This class will discuss each competency, why it matters, as well as tips and strategies for demonstrating these competencies in professional interactions. We will also examine other sources of data around success in the legal profession, what this data tells us about the culture and expectations of the profession, and what qualities make attorneys successful in those environments.
