Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Description: The Wake Forest Journal of Law and Policy 2021 Symposium is titled "Government Transparency in the Modern Age: Examining the Gap Between Citizen Expectation and the Law." This topic was selected in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the Pentagon Papers. As such, the symposium will focus on the discrepancy between what citizens expect government transparency to look like versus what the government is legally required to disclose. The symposium will include five sessions, including topics such as key precedent for transparency, privacy law, COVID's effects on FOIA, local government (NC specific) transparency, and policing. NC attorneys may use these sessions for their Continuing Legal Education requirements (pending bar approval).
