Society for Criminal Justice Reform (SCJR) Wrongful Conviction Day Commemoration

Date: Friday, October 2, 2020
Time: 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Description: Wrongful Conviction Day is an international day to raise awareness of the causes and remedies of wrongful convictions and to recognize the tremendous personal, social, and emotional costs of wrongful convictions for innocent people and their families.

We will be commemorating this day by inviting an exonerate, Donte Sharpe, to address our students and faculty as a living testimony of the dangers of wrongful convictions. His attorney, Theresa Newman from Duke Law's Wrongful Conviction Clinic, will also participate in the discussion.

This event is sponsored by Wake Forest Law's Society for Criminal Justice Reform (SCJR) and Innocence and Justice Clinic.
