Interest meeting for the Domestic Violence Awareness Coalition (DVAC). Pro bono opportunities and 1L leadership opportunities available. Food will be served. DVAC began in 1996 and is a joint effort between the Legal Aid Society and Wake Forest University School of Law. We work to promote awareness and provide support to victims of domestic violence in Winston-Salem and beyond. Through DVAC and Legal Aid, law students assist Legal Aid attorneys by interviewing victims in order to help establish their case in upcoming related civil and criminal matters. We also host a yearly speaking event which brings together activists, professors, lawyers, and other professionals to discuss topics within the areas of law that pertain to domestic violence. |
